Indonesian rattan is a natural commodity that has been traded for a long time. The availability of rattan is abundant in Indonesian forests, especially in Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Sumatra, making Indonesia the main supplier of rattan to the world’s needs. As one of the natural wealth, rattan has an important role in Indonesia’s economic growth. This study aims to analyze the competitiveness of Indonesian rattan furniture to its largest importing countries and also to analyze the determinants that influence the competitiveness of Indonesian rattan furniture. The data used in this study is annual time series data from 2007-2016. The method used in this study is through a competitiveness test with the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) and Error Correction Model (ECM) approaches used to analyze the factors that influence the competitiveness of Indonesian rattan furniture to major importing countries using the EVIEWS 9 software. The results showed that Indonesia has higher competitiveness in the 5 main importing countries, especially in the UK and Italy rattan furniture markets which have higher competitiveness than other markets with RCA values of 141.01 and 100.95. This makes both of them the main options for Indonesia’s rattan furniture export share in the future. The ECM results show that Indonesia’s rattan furniture export competitiveness to major importing countries in the short term is influenced by Indonesia’s GDP and rattan furniture tariff policies. In the long term, the competitiveness of Indonesian rattan furniture is affected by Indonesia’s export prices, the GDP of the 5 main importing countries, Indonesia’s GDP, and the exchange rate. http://repository.ipb.ac.id/handle/123456789/100076
